It was once believed that you should never talk to friends about religion or politics. This week we’re going to explore both, asking the question ‘how would Jesus vote?’ Author, minister and sociologist Tony Campolo will join us to describe what he calls ‘Red Letter Christians’—people who look to the words of Christ as they’re moral, ethical and political starting point. Listen to Tony then tell me what you think.
Plus, why is it that folks in the developing world often have the strongest faith, while churches in affluent countries can struggle in attendance and enthusiasm? Could riches and material prosperity be the problem? This week we’ll start a five-part series on simple living with Ron Sider. By giving away to those who go without, we just may find new spiritual joy ourselves.

Dear Sheridan
Just wanted to say that I really enjoy your program. I particulary like what R T Kendall had to say on Total Forgiveness. It was so enlightening and encouraging.
I just wanted to share something with you about the damage of Not being forgiven.
Last year, I lost my brother in law, my husband's brother, in a tragic accident.
In my reaction to grief, I wanted to help the family and so organised a family get together.
During the function, I got very angry with one relative and said some terrible things. In my reaction to grief I really I said some hurtful things to them.
Their father came to visit me afterwards, telling me that he had contacted the Police and might have me charged. He also threatened that I ever did something like this again they would not contact the Police but take revenge directly. I again said that I was very sorry and ashamed for what I had done.
Later I discovered that all the members of this part of the family my actions, and that as a result that wanted nothing to do with me. So now I have lost friends and family.
After that, I suffered greatly and fell very ill. My blood pressure has gone up and I have been on medication. I sent an apology to the original family member but never heard anything back.
I have forgiven them but I have lost my dignity.... This is what unforgiveness can do.
Just wanted to share.
Really enjoy your program
God bless you, Sheridan

Hi Sheridan
I just wanted to say that i've enjoyed podcasting Open House from over
here in China! I've particularly enjoyed the spirituality series, and got heaps out of it. And yesterday i listened to your interview with Joshua Harris from way back. Man! you asked some pretty hairy questions! 'How did it feel having your first kiss in front of so
many people at your wedding?' You had me laughing.
Just wanted to let you know that i've been keeping up with the show a
bit and that it's an encouragement to me.
