Open Up - What Experience Opened Your Eyes to Others' Needs?

This week we heard from singer Sara Groves, about how one girl’s story radically changed her approach to life.
Hearing about the faith of a young girl stolen into the sex trade, literally began to reshape her Christianity… There was also a visit to an area ravaged by Hurricane Katrina, that helped open her eyes to the need around her…

Now I’d like to hear your stories…

• Have you had an experience that really changed the way you do life – something that made you realize, “Hang on, it’s not all about me”…?

• Perhaps it was an experience while travelling – maybe seeing people living a less affluent lifestyle re-adjusted your priorities…

• Or maybe you’ve been on some sort of missions type trip, or a short trip to do some humanitarian work, and you’ve come back inspired to make more of a difference in the world around you…

• Maybe it was an encounter in your own neighbourhood –

- A chance meeting with someone in need;
- A conversation with a homeless person;
- Or maybe even a book you read…

• What experienced opened your eyes to needs beyond your own?
