Talkback - The Nature of God

What is God really like? What you believe about God’s nature and personality affects everything else—how you live, work, pray; the way you understand love, interpret evil and the way you see the world with all of its beauty and brokenness.

Mark Galli, the senior managing editor of the influential US-based magazine Christianity Today, has written a book called A Great and Terrible Love - and it sets out to explore that very question of what God is like.

Let's hear your thoughts and experiences on the nature of God.

* When you think of God what do you think of the most?
* What aspects of his nature have become most important to you?
* Are there things you are confused about?
* Anything you have discovered about the nature of God recently that has changed your view of who He is?

Drop us a line.

Sandra. What a moving and powerful story. How amazing and very real He is to answer your prayer in that way. Thanks so much for sharing it.

Sandra Vazzoler:

I wanted to share a true story with everyone. This happend many years ago. I have been wanting to share this with many people.

It was the middle of summer. Stinking hot. Although surrounded by people I felt isolated. I was feeling very alone.
Everyone was sound asleep. Exhausted from the heat.

So I knelt beside my bed and cried out to the Lord. Nothing very eloquent at all. There was incredible longing..."How could you possibly help me. You were here 2,000 years ago! Lord I cannot even feel your robe against my face"...

Then I looked up; my son Joshua had got up. He had his brothers loose white T-Shirt on. He just hugged me, I felt his shirt against my cheek. He didnt say anything at all and then he simply went back down the hallway back to his room and back to his deep sleep.

So who is my Father, who is my Lord Jesus.???
He is someone that hears the smallest and quietest prayers. Somehow always there. His arms surround us with tenderness.

Well Thats It.

Masje:

While listening to your podcast on what is God really like I had a thought about the unchangeable God, God knows everything from beginning to end, He knows all, the Alpha and Omega, and therefore cannot change. Our names are Written in the Book of Life. When we pray and our prayer is granted, we are receiving what God already planned for us. All our prayers are not answered and that in itself is a Blessing. Some where it is said be careful about what you wish for because you might actually get it.

About the Knowing of God, it is said, it is a terrifying thing to fall into the Hands of the Living God, God does have a Voice and He has all the Glory, Power thru His Knowledge, Wisdom and Understanding, and in the beginning He took delight in Wisdom. God is all in all. He has an individual relationship with everyone that call on Him.

About the Three Gods in one, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit all in our self.

Our Life has been planned in conjunction with His Will..

Lord grant me with what I need with what is needed, in you I pray Amen

God Bless You
