Talkback - Racist Attacks on Indian Students

The problem of racist attacks against Indian students escalated this week, when a computer hacker left a message on an Australian defense website, calling for government action on the violence. Dozens of attacks against Indian students have been reported in recent months; and students have held rallies in Melbourne and Sydney to protest over the issue. I'd like to hear your experience of this concern.

• If you're a student, have you noticed more fear among your friends since these attacks?

• Especially if you're from Indian in Australia studying, I'd love to hear how you're feeling - have these reports made you and your friends more wary or afraid of being out late at night?

• Have you or anyone you know been the victim of some kind of attack or racism - maybe even verbal abuse?

• Is this just confined to Indian students? Perhaps you know of attacks on students of other nationalities too?

• Is Australia becoming a more violent and dangerous nation?
