He used to work in a cut-throat corner of the advertising industry, where he learnt that the very methods we use to communicate, have a powerful influence on our culture and the way we think. In his book, Flickering Pixels, he says we should be careful how we use technology - because it even affects the most fundamental workings of our faith.

• What have you seen that illustrates the way technology influences our life and even our faith?
• What about your personal experience
• Has your spiritual understanding been influenced or changed by image culture or mediums like the internet / films?
• Has your social life or emotional state been influenced by the way you connect with people - has internet communication ultimately isolated you rather than connecting you?
• Do you think churches ' use of technology to communicate their message, influences the way that message comes across? Does the actual technology help or hinder?
• What sort of messages do you think our modern communication mediums and methods are carrying when it comes to our understanding of God and the Bible?
