As the Leadership Spill in the Liberal Party dominates the headlines, the future of Malcom Turnbull as the Party's leader remains unclear. Joe Hockey is yet to declare his intentions, but Tony Abbott has committed himself to a leadership challenge on Tuesday, 1 December.
The spat is all over the Emission Trading Scheme, and in particular Malcolm Turnbull's refusal to delay a vote on the Carbon Pollution Reduction Bill until after the Copenhagen Climate conference, Monday week, 7 December.
I'm interested to know what you think about all this.
- Has Malcolm Turnbull made a mistake by supporting the Government's Emissions Trading Scheme, or do you admire him for standing by his convictions, even if his party doesn't agree with him?
- As leader of a political party, should he put aside his own views, and simply represent the views of his party?
- Do you think the Liberal Party should be opposing the Emissions Trading Scheme?
- Who would you like to see as leader of the Liberal Party? Can you see Joe Hockey as the next Prime Minister? What about Tony Abbott? Does he have what it takes?
Tell me what you think below!
