Bangalore City Mission

21 years ago, a couple called Violet and Paul Raj moved to a town in Bangalore, in India's South. Near that town was quarry. And in that quarry, little children worked alongside adults, in harsh, life-threatening conditions. Instead of going to school and playing games, these kids spent their days splitting rocks, just to help their families survive. Mr and Mrs Raj, who were committed Christians, couldn't just sit back and watch this injustice continue - So they opened their home to the quarry kids, and started educating them. Today, that little homeschool has grown into a highschool for 600 students; and it's just one part of a charity organisation called Bangalore City Mission. Director Jonathan Paul joined us in the studio during a visit to Australia.
